The method of edge detection as a low-grade vision dispose process, has a long history. New theories and new methods constantly appeared. The traditional methods of the edge detection developed fast, but there are still many problems. Especially the problem of the harmony between the precision of detection and the de-noising. How to solve this problem and find a simple algorithm is a very interesting but challenging question. This paper reports the work as the following:(1) Nonlinear lifting scheme is adopted to the method of the edge detection. This new method computes simply and rapidly. Furthermore, it can restrain noise. (2)The adaptive thresholds is used in the edge detection. It can differentiate the noise and the edge effectively and has an accurate localization . (3) According to the above, a new edge detection algorithm is proposed. In addition, several examples were given to prove its efficiency.
