Information Searches Frame Basing On Ontology

Nowadays Internet develops very fast. It presents not only in technology, but also in the storing, presenting and acquiring information by the Internet. Internet provides a convenient way to acquire and exchange information for people, but at the same time, users feel it's difficult to search information as well as the quantity of information increases too fast. Therefore, the meanings of the Internet existing present not only in the "quantity" of information, but also in the "quality" of information, which is to say, users can easily acquire the information that they need.Ontology can resolve the problem mentioned above. Using ontology, information can be expressed as knowledge that can be comprehended by computer, and the user can search information by semantic way, thereby, the efficiency of general and exact searching is much greater than the traditional way. This paper discusses the application of ontology in the semantic searching, analyses the method of transforming the thesaurus into ontology by the reference of constructing thesaurus, discusses how to construct ontology base model using the XML, RDF and the OWL delivered newly by W3C and how to use the parsing tools of ontology, briefly introduces the procedure of developing a semantic searching system basing on history theme using the J2EE frame. The whole paper includes four parts:The first part introduces the basic concepts and the developing status of ontology, illustrates the meanings of semantic searching and how the ontology technology resolves the problems raising in the semantic searching.The second part introduces the concepts and structure of thesaurus that similar to ontology and discusses the difference of them, and introduces some typical cases of applying thesaurus to ontology projects abroad.The third part researches how to apply Ontology Web Language (OWL) to construct ontology model. It introduces the schema, principles, syntax of OWL.The fourth part introduces the ontology information searching system that authortakes part in, mainly discusses how to apply OWL to construct Knowledge Base Model of "Collaboration between Communist Party and Kuomintang".The last part discusses the problems of applying Ontology. This part introduces how to develop an information searching system basing on the Ontology base of "Collaboration between Communist Party and Kuomintang".
