With the development of DOCSIS standard on cable-moden, CATV networks has been evolved into a integrative broadband data access networks. CATV networks in the structure of HFC include downstream transmission broadcast path and upstream return path, and relative standard and technology of building down transmission path are quite mature, while upsteam return is different from downstream transmission path in signal format, service bandwidth, network structure and the like. Nowadays in return path of HFC-networks there still is not a complete standard on planning, setting up, debuging and measuring return path of HFC-networks. This paper mainly focuses on some technical difficult point on influx noise disturbing, influx level equalizing ,and return digital signal in building return path of HFC-networks, in the paper, I still summarizes on how to plan, set up, debug and measure return path of HFC-networks and presents a relatively complete theory system on setting up this return path of HFC-networks. Furthermore, a case study is provided.
