The Workflow Management System About The Software Development Procedure

Software development process is the most important process in all of the ITenterprises. Nowadays, software is more and more large and complex. And thistendency makes it is difficult to manage the process of software development. Forresolve the problem, people have been starting to apply the project management intosoftware development. In these projects, people do develop some tools to facilitysome activities in software development and make them automatic. However, peoplestill manage the software development process by hands from the whole view. Theworks of this paper is to apply the thought of the workflow management into thesoftware development management and develop the architecture of SPMS accordingto analysis on workflow management and software development process. The SPMS,which stands for Software Process Management System, will be compliance withWfMC standards.The first chapter of this paper introduces the background, definition, value anddevelopment tendency of workflow management system.The WfMC, Workflow Management Coalition, has standardized the referencemodel, the terminology and interfaces of workflow management. Hence, a workflowmanagement system who can interact with other ones should be compliance with thisstandards. The second chapter will introduces these WfMC standards.Modeling is a wild accepted engineering technology in IT industry. Modelingbefore constructing is more and more accepted in software development. The thirdchapter will describe the object-oriented modeling and UML.Since the objective of this paper is to develop a software developmentmanagement system, the forth chapter will describe the software development processand software engineering.At last, as the fifth chapter of this paper, we will analysis the features of SPMS,construct a workflow management core business model and develop the architectureof SPMS.
