| The traditional transmission mode of electric power production information is drawing, report form, instruction, which is time-consuming and strenuous. Any tache laged behind or error will cause accident and great economic losses. In the situation that criss-cross electric wire netting, huge quantity of the electric equipment and electric wire netting information, urban road and building change constantly and so on, it is found that there exists close relations between various kinds of electric wire netting information and space geographical environment in practice. Besides, the traditional electric figure system is hard to satisfy construction and operation of electric wire netting both safely and economically. So we utilize GIS technical to manage and deal with the information, which could make dispatcher's department watch changes of information ocularly in real time. Further more the electric wire net will be managed effectively and scientifically. The application of the Geographical Information System in the power system makes rapid progress extensively and deeply since middle of 1990's. It is one of the important directions of information-based electricity development in the future.This paper integrates research findings of domestic electric GIS, probes into application of GIS in Haikou electric wire netting with especial emphasis on electrical power distribution GIS, and information integration of electric wire netting GIS and the dispatcher SCADA system as well. The main content that this paper studied inludes:Development of GIS and its application in the power industry;GIS data model analysis, the expression and operation of the distribution data in electric GIS;The structure of electric GIS database and design, coding methods of data;Topological analysis of the distribution network;GIS and SCADA integration, mainly researches into SCADA and GIS interface, discusses purpose and benefit for integration of them by analysis of SCADA system and its database used by to Haikou local dispach.
