Wireless Ad Hoc network bases on technology of packet wireless network and is the aggregate of radios, hardware and software for computer. Configed quickly and flexibly to a stable and effective dynamic network, Ad Hoc network is widely used in war, police and hospital for emergency, sensor network, and classroom education. It's very important for developping Ad Hoc network. This paper researches on the restricted factors and the improving policy of Ad Hoc network capacity. At first, the paper introduces the two concept that Kumar formula and capacity region, and analyze that node shift, multi-hop route technology, transmitting in vary rates, power control, directed antenna, and multi-channel how to affect network capacity. It is proved that multi-channel technology is the most powerful tool to improve network capacity. Then the physic technology of multi-channel, some problems aroused by multi-channel, multi-access mechanism, multi-channel assignment, and transceivers assignment policy of multi-channel multi-transceiver system are further analysed. In the end, a multi-channel Ad Hoc network medium access protocol based on cross-layer design (MMAP) is proposed. It is learned from the simulation that MMAP protocol can do well in improving network capacity.
