Wal-mart, the world's largest chain retailing operator, applied RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology to her America supermarkets in 2004, which declared a beginning of global chain retailing large-scale application on RFID technology . After china joins WTO, Chinese chain retailing enterprises face more and more threaten from domestic rivals and overseas ones, application of information system can remarkably enhance enterprises' core competence, but currently the level of domestic chain retailing informatization is still low, the application of RFID technology and RFID auto-identification information system can not only buildup the ability of precise logistics management, but also boost up enterprises' informatization. This paper explores the advantage and the scope of Chinese chain retailing enterprises' RFID technology application at present by analyzing the character of domestic chain retailing and theapplication of RFID technology, then focus on the realization of RFID auto-identification information system which can meet the current need of domestic chain retailing enterprises' RFID technology application.Firstly, this paper analyzes the background and the research purpose of chain retailing auto-identification information system based on RFID technology, then detailedly introduces RFID technology and RFID auto-identification information system, uncovers the advantage of RFID technology by comparing to barcode technology. Then, this paper discusses the advantage of domestic chain retailing enterprises' RFID technology application, proposes the tactic of RFID technology application for Chinese chain retailing enterprises, and analyzes the feasibility of applying RFID technology to pallets presently on the basis of the tactic, then explores the priority of development of logistics center RFID auto-identification information system.The development of logistics center RFID auto-identification information system for domestic chain retailing enterprises on the basis of applying RFID technology to pallets is the emphasis for research. This paper detailed analyzes the demand of RFID auto-identification information system based on the need of logistics center RFID technology application, presents the business logics of the RFID auto-identification information system. Then, this paper emphasizes the design of RFID auto-identification information system based on the resultof demand analysis. The mixed architecture design of C/S and B/S meets the need of system performance. And this paper utilizes CORBA technology to perform the system integration design between RFID system and barcode system by analyzing each feature. In order to make full use of advantage of read/write tag, this paper particularly focuses on the tag data format design, at the same time, puts forward the reasonable solution based on XML technology to avoid the adverse influence on RFID auto-identification information system operation caused by the change of the tag data format. Furthermore, this paper gives a detailed layout to tag data storage. On the basis of system design, this paper fulfills the coding of logistics center RFID auto-identification information system using Java programming language.The key to chain retailing RFID technology application is the development of corresponding information system. This paper presents the whole development process of logistics center RFID auto-identification information system combining the characteristics of Chinese chain retailing. The research has a certain theoretical and practical meaning to promote Chinese chain retailing RFID application.
