Recent years, LCD panel was used more and more widely in personal electronic products. It is become more and more difficult to design a high performance driver chip, because people want to see higher picture quality. In high performance LCD driver chip design, there are two challenge, one is how to increase the data transfer speed, the other is how to decrease power consumption.This paper detailed analyses TFT and CSTN-LCD driver principles, AC drive and grey shade 's circuit implementation in TFT, scan line-by-line and PWM method in CSTN. Introduces how a high integrated CSTN-LCD driver and control IC 's logic part is designed, this project uses standard cell based ASIC design flow , in instruction decoder module implementation, used a novel way which use register file to latch control signals.In system design, LCD driver chip has some problem , this paper introduces an LVDS transmission technology to speed up serial data transfer. In data transfer interface ,we often use parallel transmission, this technology needs many data lines, between these lines will occur crosstalk easily, this can cause PCB layout more difficult and decrease data transmit stability, and serial transmission speed is so slow, that it is not suitable for application in real system. LVDS (Lower power differential signaling) technology, speeds up serial data transmission ten times than the technology we usually use now, this can replace parallel transmission without performance degradation, LVDS technology also has low power property.
