Semantic Web is a new concept formally proposed by the WWW founder Berners-Lee in 2001. The main goal of studying semantic Web is to expand current WWW, and the information is represented with the form that computers can understand and deal with, so that all information in network has semantics.Semantic Web Services (SWS) is to put semantics' support in Web services and the Web Services can be described and reasoned with semantics. Finally, the Semantic Web Services environment is built up, in order that computers can understand communication contents each other to realize the Web Services' automation. At present, using Ontology to describe Web Services is the main study ways of Semantic Web Services .And the OWL-S,as the top Ontology language of describing Web Services, is widely supported.Researchses of Semantic Web Services are mainly launched on OWL-S.The concepts of Web Services and Semantic Web are introduced in this paper .And the concept of OWL-S as well as its three parts:profile, process and grounding, is analyzed. The relationship between OWL-S and WSDL is also described. At last, the OWL-S programming interface - OWL-S API is introduced. For Semantic Web Services, the realizing mechanisms of techniques such as automatic discovery, execution and composition of Web services are emphasized, and some application cases on OWL-S are analyzed.A OWL-S Services caseā€”the Travel Agent Service,is designed. And the basic framework and workflow of this SWS are analyzed.A OWL-S Service Ontology case with the airline reservation service is providedAt last, the development enviroment for OWL-S Service is introduced.
