At present, CAD is widely applied into mechanical designing areas. CAD research is continuously aimed at supporting the designing process as well as realizing the designing acceleration. In the mean time, since mechanical designing, distinguished with mechanical drawing, has its own unique characteristics, it not only requires us to create related geographic models for components, but also need us to work out good components matched with the engineering demands as well as their application surroundings. The Mechanical design accelerator, to some degree, provides a solution for this problem. With the engineering designing data being collected, the components data will be worked out in accordance with the mechanical engineering requirements, and as a result, the components will be produced accordingly.The Mechanical design accelerator brings a new technology of 3D designing into reality. It is a standard tool for knowledge, which embodies the tendency of development from geography description to knowledge acquirement. The Mechanical design accelerator enables a designer to focusing on solutions for a problem instead of wasting time on the constructional operation of building 3D models during his conception for the products.This plan has finally functioned into the Inventor 3D application software from Autodesk Company. The COM Componential technology has been applied into the designing, in the purpose of realizing the reusability, portability, as well as language independent of the codes. Connections have been built between Mechanical design accelerator and Inventor software through using the Add-in technology. As a result, information can be exchanged between the Mechanical design accelerator and Inventor software, for good of the development and upgrading of the third side researchers. VC.NET, the currently populated developmental tool, as well as ATL structure for developing COM component, both have been applied into this plan, so as to bring the mechanical design accelerator into function.In the spirit of enabling the mechanical design accelerator into operation, the thesis has collected and categorized the theories and algorithm for its related components, based on which, the thesis has divided the systematic models, analyzed the overall structural functions, completed the designing as well as brought the designing into reality. The ATL Add-in has been worked out, with mutual communication. At last, the integration of both mechanical design accelerator program and Inventor software has been completed. The thesis meets the purpose of program designing successfully through achieving the design result as well as its performance.
