In order to adapt the fast changing market demand, batch reaction becomes more and more important, and its low automation level gets it to be improved urgently. Taking the laboratory batch reactor as an example, this paper deeply studies its operation flow and characteristic, and designs the monitoring system according to control demand.Having studied the structure of reactor and optimal control curve, this paper designs control circuit for temperature, pressure and flux, which is designed by using cascade control, selectivity control and other control strategy. As for the operation flow, the paper proposes a control blueprint using PLC and PC to compose reactor supervisory system. Many functions are realized in PLC such as data collection, digital output, analogy PID control and so on. On the computer the monitoring system is designed by using King View, and using SQL database to store important data. The system also realizes history trend curve, real time trend curve, alarm, print and so on, and this provides one way to monitor product situation and makes the rapid reaction to the unusual things. Moreover, the way of data access between PLC and computer is realized by OPC technology. Because conventional PID control is difficult to satisfy the control precision, the paper proposes one kind of adaptive control method combining Neutral Network and PID control after studying many kinds of advanced control method,. Neutral Network can approach any non-linear relations, having self study character and may adapt nonlinear system dynamic characteristic. The new adaptive control method revises the PID controller by using the nerve network output.The monitoring system for the laboratory batch reactor has operational convenience, and gets good control effect.
