| ISO10160 (Information and Documentation: Open Systems Interconnection—Interlibrary Loan Application Service Defmition)/ISO10161 (Information and Documentation: Open Systems Interconnection—Interlibrary Loan Application Protocol Specification) is an international protocol formed in order to standardize the interlibrary loan operations. The protocol specifies the definition of interlibrary loan service. By means of 21 APDU messages defined in this protocol and standard encode/decode rule, we can realize the resource sharing between different libraries.Z39.50 protocol is an Internet information retrieval standard. It was initially developed by the library community and is mainly used in the library online bibliography information retrieval. There are many advantages when using the Z39.50 for information retrieval service. It not only supports various kinds of advanced searching, but also avoids the disparity between the databases of each service provider and enables users to search every Z39.50 server, which is distributed around the world, using the same Z39.50 client or gateway. Supporting Z39.50 services has become a main characteristic of the new generation of library automation systems.This paper advances a set of solution scheme and macro design for the implementation of document delivery on the Internet environment, and gives some discussion about the key elements for the implementation which includes the process of APDU, the computer descriptions of ASN.1 syntax, the BER coding rules and the design for supporting database etc. The exact method and program for implementation of document delivery are also presented in the paper. At one time, this paper gives design and implementation for system flows and charge management from query to document delivery.Otherwise, in order to solve the problems of heterogeneous systems between libraries, this article designs HTTP/Z39.50 gateway. It solves communicating mode and format between distributed searching systems, and realizes to search heterogeneous databases with a kind of simple environment.Finally, the author gives conclusion and expectation for system. |
