Multi-agent system is a system organization style which is combination of the traditional artificial intelligence problem solving pattern and distributed computing technology. Agent is the basic element of a multi-agent system, which has characters such as autonomy, reactivity, social ability, and so on. Through message based communication and coordination, multi-agents react with each other and accomplish their common tasks. Nowadays this style of system architecture plays more important roles in enterprise information system integration.In considering cotton spinning enterprise as a special field of manufacturing industry, the paper proposes a management information system for spinning cotton enterprise, which is based on multi-agent technology. As compared with traditional enterprise information system, the system makes improvements in integration, extendibility and refactoring. Following is the main works in this paper. Designing and modeling the management information system for spinning cotton enterprise, which is treated as a multi-agent system. As the example, it analyzes the collaborative solving problems mechanism and of distributing cotton sub-system from functional point. Giving the implementation of the management information system for spinning cotton enterprise with Message-Driven Bean and JMS of J2EE technology. Giving the instance of distributing cotton sub-system to introduce the management information system for spinning cotton enterprise.
