Orthogonal frequency division multiplex(OFDM) is an effective method to realize high data rate transmission. This thesis deals with the problems of the equalization and adaptive beamforming of OFDM systems. Under the framework of conventional fractional equalizers, the equalizer and adaptive beamformer for OFDM system based on cyclic data are proposed by employing the cyclic property of the column vectors of FFT matrix. Theoretical analysis and computer simulation results show that good performance can be obtained by the proposed method using short training signal, which implies that the equalization of OFDM systems can be performed effectively. Under array receivers, the adaptive beamforming method effectively performs space-time equalization of the desired OFDM signal and suppresses the undesired signal simultaneously.
