H.264 standard, which submitted by ISO/IEC and ITU-T,greatly improves coding efficiency and be regarded as the most influential video coding standard. Compare with the other techniques, H.264 has high compression performance, and its system can be well applicable in the mobile and the IP network.The paper realizes the key modules according to H.264 standard and adopts multimedia extension techniques to improve the speed of transform and quantization. Key techniques of multimedia real time transmission protocol are also be researched in this paper. Based on the encoder optimization, transmission control, and Multi-threads technology, this thesis designed a video network transmission system. The optimization and the transmission system build up foundation of further research for the H.264 video transmission system.
