Research On OTDR Events Detection Method

OTDR events detection method based on wavelets has been mainly researched inthis paper. It's researched that OTDR test method and the basic events type.Thesingularity of saltation helps to find the relations of wavelet transformation highfrequency coefficient along with the scale changing, and obtain the method on eventtype judgment. The method of threshold denoise and correlation enhancement isproposed, and the theory based on selecting threshold denoise method is elaborated indetail. The data is decomposed with the biorthogonal wavelet, according to changerule of the saltation points in each scale after carrying on threshold denoise andcorrelation enhancement to high frequency data, the reflection events and thenon-reflection events is clearly distinguished. The experimental result indicated thatthere are nearly no leaked detection and error detection using this event detectionmethod , and the events can be accurately located. Compared with the traditionalmethod, the wavelet transformation event analysis method has the certain superiorityin validity, but the calculation increased.
