The Research Of Identity-Based Encryption And IBE Application In E-mail System

This paper mainly studies Identity-Based Encryption (IBE) and the application in E-mail system. It describes some practical applications of IBE in the areas of confidentiality enforcement, privacy and identity management. It also compares IBE with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). This paper proposes an effective new scheme for identity credential and key distribution based on IBE original scheme. Utilizing the most advantage of IBE---identity, the idea of two private keys is proposed, in which the identity private key is the exchange of E-mail private key for credential. The secure distribution of private key is also solved in the proposed scheme. The IBE-based E-mail encryption model is proposed. The paper analyzes the function modules in detail. And the prototype of IBE-based E-mail encryption model in Microsoft Outlook is developed in this paper based on the encryption algorithms in IBE Library.
