| The paper introduced the system of long-distance automatic meter reading development situation at present and the compare of each kind of meter reading technology. The application of the digital image processing technology in the field of automatic meter reading was elaborated. By combining digital image processing, MCU, GSM/GPRS, the system of automatic meter reading adapting to the situation of our country is put forward, mainly including:Firstly, image capture. The value of binarization is established through the Matlab simulation experiment. Then the binarization of power meter reading is realized. At the base of earnestly analysis to the OV7620 working sequence, using its frame synchronization, field synchronization and the pixel-clock signal, completed gathering of the active power meter reading image which is reduced resolutions at the control of MCU.Secondly, image recognition. In view of the active power meter reading concrete character, different recognition algorithm is adopted to the complete character, the incomplete character and the scale division. To the complete character use the image which representation by matrix, making the subtraction between the matrix of capture image and the matrix of template, the result matrix which absolute sum of its all elements is the smallest is the recognition result. To the incomplete character, using two lines of 0~9 as template, then carry on the recognition using the template matching. To the scale division recognition, using the central position of it, distinguishes the long scale division expression is merely 0 perhaps 5.Thirdly, data transmitting. The result of recognize is transmit to the concentrator by MCU. These data are transmitting to the meter reading center by GSM module. The process will complete entirely.Finally, the summarization of this paper is given, and the future research is point out clearly. |
