| Since the Ministry of Education released the Notification of Composing and Reporting 2006 Enrolling Plans of Each Higher Education Institution or Specialty (MOE, 2006, No. 4), people have paid more attention to the general open program?. The program has been adopted in recent years, as a special higher educational mode. It selects excellent three-year college graduates and gives them an opportunity to study in a four-year college program for another two years, and the students obtain a four-year college diploma, which builds a new entrance to regular colleges and universities. Among all higher educational modes, this program distinguishes itself in various aspects. Investigating the mode helps us to learn more about the state education situation and new educational modes.The thesis is based on the related theories of higher education, the curriculum assessment theory and the constructivism theory. The thesis researches into the general open program of computer specialty in higher education institutions theoretically and practically. In theory, it comprehensively briefs the following contents: the program's present condition, features, student's characteristics and curriculum construction, showing a clear understanding of the whole program and preparing for other related researches.In practice, the thesis selects five colleges and universities in Zhejiang Province for a case study. These five institutions operate or once operated the general open program in computer specialty. It makes comparisons from five perspectives: enrollment, objectives of cultivation, curriculum setting, teaching and employment, which provides reliable data in acknowledging the present condition. Based upon the comparisons, it puts forward some feasible suggestions about how to improve and perfect the program. |
