In recent years, digital watermarking and steganography have become one of the most active research areas. They have extensive applications and have drawn many attentions. The object of digital watermarking is to protect the intellectual property. The embedded information can be thought as an attribute of the carrier as it conveys addition information about the carrier for its copyright, ownership, distribution etc. Steganography is the art and science to conceal the existence of communication by innocuous cover carriers. A goal of steganography is for cover communication. An attack against a steganographic system is the detection that an embedded message exists. Information hiding detection, estimation of the hidden message length, and its extraction belong to the field of steganalysis.Information hiding detection has received a great deal of attention both from the academic research and the law enforcement. On the one hand, steganalysis can improve security of steganographic algorithm. On the other hand, it can use to reveal the illegal communication with some steganographic tools. In this thesis, we focus on the detection of hidden messages in digital images in the case of blind detection.In this thesis, a survey on the related research and recent development is given first. Then we classify and introduce several existing stego-detection algorithms that can be used to reveal popular steganographic products. Here a developed algorithm has been proposed and we also bring the denoising algorithm based on wavelet transform. The experimental results show that the methods are effective.
