In traditional embedded-system design, The developer must prepare every system resources, For example:RAM,IO,setup or read&write registers. But by the development of electronic information technology,the resources and the functions of embedded syustem become more and more,the design of embedded system become more and more complex.So the traditional method of embedded system design become very complex and hard to assure stability of the system. For this reason, OS(operation-system) is used in embedded system design,and embedded OS was appeared.The advantage of embedded OS is : in design based on embedded OS,the hardwareand the software is separated.The applications never direct relate about the bottom operation,for wxample:the hardware work,the 10 respond and RAM distribut.The developer is liberated from the complex resources prepare.This paper particular explain how to do a software design based on embedded OS by the example of Mobile GPS Terminal.This paper first explain some basic thing about software design based on embedded OS.Then the paper explain the develop flat.How to use the develop board(based on ARM7 MPU S3C44B0X), how to install cross-compile tools on host and how to link host and board.The flowed sect is the kernel of this paper.It explain three part of design based on embedded OS.Those three part arerthe port of embedded OS,the design od drivers,the design of application.The last sect is about compile download and run the image of uClinux.The last is test,conclusion and suggest about the next develop.
