| Configuration management aims to provide and store configuration information and historical records about IT infrastructure. These information and records are used to support the management activities related to IT infrastructure for digital campus and to ensure the normal operation of the digital campus. Taking the construction of Beijing Forestry University digital campus as a background, this thesis divides the configuration items into five categories: hardware, software, files, personnel and parameters, and studies characteristics of each category; on this basis, this thesis also addresses the relativity among them: contain, connect, possess, use, copy and relate, which can be divided into three levels: strong, general and weak according to the coupling degree. Furthermore, this thesis designs and implements the data structure for configuration management. Besides, after advancing a set of comprehensive configuration management processes related to IT infrastructure, this thesis designs and builds an IT infrastructure configuration management system based on the processes using Struts technology in J2EE framework. This system can measure all the IT assets and value of the configuration items, and provide an approach to administrate all the configuration items and relationship among them dynamically. Finally this thesis makes a suggestion about how to distribute positions and related duties for people inside configuration management for digital campus. |
