Wireless Access System is a very important device in wireless local area network (WLAN), it needs not only to manage the mobile experiments in WLAN, but also to bridge the wire network to the wireless. The performance of wireless access system will impact the data transmission ability directly. Therefore, it is very necessary to develop a wireless access system with a good performance.This thesis analyzes the system's architectures of hardware and software, emphasizes on introducing the hardware development process including the design methods of each circuit module in detail. At last, after solving the problems of high speed printed circuit board (PCB) layout, realize the wireless access system's PCB.The hardware development process follows the idea of hardware pruning and integration. First of all, summarize the requirement analysis, then choose a general hardware platform which can support the development of whole system. After that, set up a DEMO environment to realize the first edition which can validate the functions of system, then the hardware resources which are taken up by the system will be achieved as important parameters which will help us to arrange the final edition system's hardware,such as the size of inside memory and outside memory, the kinds of interfaces, and so on. Then the general platform hardware will be cut out and integrated, all of the circuits and the PCB will be designed and realized. The design process of PCB needs to follow the idea of high speed circuit layout, otherwise the PCB can't work any more. The system realization process can be used for other embedded system devices hardware development.There is very positive meaning for improving the performance of WLAN by designing a good wireless access system, and we can also think it as an opportunity to expand the research work on the security of data transmission and quality of service in WLAN.
