Single-chip switching power supply management Integrated Circuit (IC) has shown strong vital energies since it came out in the 1990's, because the IC has many virtues such as high integration level, most cost effective, lowest component count switcher solution and high performance. The instant development of electronic industry, computer and communication etc. field is great implus that has been making switching power supply short, light and thin. So the research and development of high performance, low power consumption and high integration density single-chip switching power supply management Intergated Circuit become urgent demand.BiCMOS (Bipolar Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) technology combines bipolar device with CMOS device effectively, so it not only holds CMOS circuit's virtues of low power, high integration density, but also obtain bipolar circuit's merits of high speed strong driving power. So the IC industry are increasingly attaching much importance to the technology in recent years.A type of single-chip switching power supply management IC is designed for the switching power supply. It integrates low-voltage control portion such as PWM comparator, voltage reference circuit, parallel connection regulator, thermal shut-down circuit etc. and high-voltage power tube in the same Integrated Circuit. Adopting BiCMOS technology improves the performance of IC.In this paper, the sub-circuits are designed and emulated carefully and as result, the sub-circuit answer the requirements that was setted in advance. This integrated circuit works at PWM mode that is at high frequency with pulse width modulation.The working frequency is fixed at 100kHz. The output signal of the single-chip IC can be regulated form 7 % to 68 % and the normal working temperature is 0℃-80℃. This management IC can be used in middle or low power switching power supply.According to the performance requirement of single-chip switching power supply management IC and existing technological level of IC, technological design point used to the IC circuit are concisely proposed in this dissertation.
