The booming development of the mibile communication in the world brings increasingly fierce competition of mobile phones, and higher requirements for mobile phones'design have been claimed so as to meet demands of market. As a result, market can be dominated only by mobile phones with fashionable appearance, friendly interface, excellent performance and strong functions. Combined with design work in mobile phone system software, this thesis made an expatiation to GSM system and mobile phone platforms, gave a detailed analysis and design to call control module, had an introduction to GSM system technology and GSM protocol stack, did a research for software layers of the protocol stack, and made an analysis for the call control process. In addition, it introduced the mobile phone platform from respects of system software and system hardware respectively. Based on the analysis and research for the whole call control process, it made a design to the whole call control module with control mechanism of state machine and event driven message module as basic thoughts, presented a state machine for call control, and listed events caused state transition as well as state transition diagram. Moreover, it designed an adjustment plan aiming at problems of screen flow in the call management, made a research on message sequence charts in the designs of MO(Mobile Originated), MT(Mobile Terminated), automatic redial and hung up module, designed the procedure flow, and provided solutions to problems occurred. The design realizes IVR and Black list function. The correctness and feasibility of the design had been tested through simulation on PC (Personal Computer), and comprehensive tests to trace message downloaded in mobile phone and functions.
