The project, using advanced technique, such as oil &water coolant coupled sensors, PCI-2 data acquisition card of Physical Acoustics Corporation (PAC) and signal processing technique, etc, realize functions of on-line monitoring and data analysis for crack of piston rod in reciprocating compressor. It can not only acquire crack signals on piston rod in equipment continuously, but also look over current trend, historical trend and make primary fault diagnosis and alarm. Using Lab Windows/CVI—VI's software development platform, the acquisition and monitoring software of the project is developed.The solution to the system of real-time monitoring on piston rod in reciprocating compressor, which based on oil & water coolant coupled sensors of Physical Acoustics Corporation (PAC), is put forward in the paper. The device uses coolant as the medium to transmit AE wave, and it can be handily installed on the compressor's original tube for supplying cooling and lubricating liquid.
