The research work in this paper presents a new thought and method for the technique of remote image enhancement, which has high theoretical value and practical significance.Image enhancement is an important part of the image process. Now, there are many methods of image enhancement, but they will more or less bring bad effects when enhancing images. Wavelet analysis has predominant advantages in image de-noising and image enhancement, due to its extracting multi-resolution characters of signal and making the difference between noise and signal very clear.The demand of image enhancing becomes higher than before along with the development of remote technique and the improvement of image resolution.Remote image enhancement based on wavelet transform are studied in this thesis. The main works are as follows:Firstly, this paper proposes the de-noising method that combines wavelet transform and median filter. This method can effectively remove the Gaussian white noise and impulse noise.Secondly, this paper propose an remote image fusion method based on wavelet transform. Experiment results on remote image enhancement show that it not only improves the space resolution but also enhances the spectral characteristics of remote image.Thirdly, we have studied how to select wavelet bases. Several typical wavelet bases are adopted and the simulation results are analyzed. Some advices selecting wavelet bases are put forward. The result are compared with those of other methods.
