| Along with the increasingly strengthening of the networking degree of the power grid, it is the necessary trend to perform the AGCs and their assessments by Control Performance Standards (CPS) which proposed by North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC). In this paper, the fundamental of AGC and the general process of the frequency control for interconnected power system have been introduced, frequency bias coefficient setting in tie-line frequency bias control (TBC) model has been discussed, also the Control Performance Criteria A1,A2 and the Control Performance Standards CPS1, CPS2 have been introduced and compared briefly. A Control Performance Standards oriented AGC logic which consists of CPS 1 control, CPS2 control and coordination control has been designed. This logic is realized with S-function in MATLAB/SIMULINK. In order to make this scheme work well, the rational range of control thresholds in CPS1 control and CPS2 control have been studied at first. On this foundation the control effect has been compared with those using A1,A2 control strategy under normal operation and accident condition. The simulation results indicate that the AGC control strategy presented in this paper can achieve better CPS 1 and CPS2 control performances with less amount of control effort. Further more, it is effective to provide power support to interconnected power grids. |
