In recent years, the incidents about safety of bridges have occurred several times. The monitoring and safety evaluation of bridges have become more and more important. So it's necessary to invent a new monitoring system of bridges which is more direct, accurate and efficient. It is possible to do it when the technologies about photoelectricity, architecture and software engineering have got tremendous progresses. This paper which discussed the application of bridge monitoring system based 3D Visualization models is a helpful research about this.This paper is a research about the bridge monitoring system of Chongqing Shi Ban Po Bridge of the Changjiang River. The aim of the study is to get the realization of 3D Visualization system of bridges. It's data and arithmetics come from Photoelectricity School and Architecture Engineering School.The method of creating a bridge monitoring system based on 3D Visualization models is introduced in this paper. Real time data analysis, history data analysis, safety evaluation and distortion analysis of 3D models about bridges are discussed as important parts.The 3D models of bridges are created and managed by ACIS,they are painted by HOOPS. The curve lines about data analysis are drawn by GDI+. The data information is saved in SQL Server databases.By the test on the Shibanpo Bridge, this system has been proved that it will improve the efficiency of the bridge monitoring system to a great extent. It will be very important to forecast the dangers of bridges and make the bridges work well. And it has accelerated the progress of bridges monitoring technologies.
