At present, in the field of wireless network access, the chipsets technology used in implementation is becoming more and more mature and the relevant protocols have grown quite perfect at the same time. As a result, it is economically feasible to have one more communication function added for embedded equipment by simply connecting with a wireless netcard. According to the requirements of the project, we analyzed and compared the performance and the market situation of every insertion method, and implemented a wireless module with well compatibility and stability in the embedded linux platform. The achievements are as follows:1) Through the analysis and research of module insertion technology and PCMCIA sub-system, we simplified the interface functions of PCMCIA protocol stack and proposed a universal method for the compatible problems in the embedded transplant by making a new classification and practical analysis for these functions according to their objective and significance.2) According to our research, we implemented the interaction process between PC-card drivers and PCMCIA sub-system.3) Through the analysis of the system architecture of WIMAX protocol, we implementedthe WIMAX wireless module insertion. According to the practical situation of the project, we validated the method of the compatibleproblems, and validated and analysed the compatibility and stability of the wireless module.
