This paper researched the Fractal theory and suggested that it can be applied in Packing CAD System. The parameter design of fractal image was realized to stimulate anomalous scenes and draw typical fractal pictures.The paper aimed to upholster packing products,to publicize packing merchandises and to defend fake brands.In general,graphics and image software only can copy,cut,delete,compose and art design pictures input computers by digital cameras or scanners.The Fractal theory gets over this flaw and pictures can be drew by pure mathematical methods.Therefore,it offers not only a new design method for packing designers,but also leaves more imaginative and using spaces to express their design aims directly.The Fractal theory of the Iterative Function System was used to achieve the parametrical arithmetic.The variational regulation of parameter in IFS was studied to draw the fractal image of IFS in computer; The classic fractal images both abroad and home were collected to set up a image data base. The vectorgraph of fractal image was saved as JPG file finally.The parameter design of fractal image produced by computer was realized,similar images of different iterative arrangement can be drawn by changing a little parameter, which made it from abstract theory into application of practical design. Code editing and debugging time was reduced,and fractal image was applied in packing design and defending of fake brands, which was not only beautiful and practical, but realized the combination of CAD and art as well; The application of fractal technique in packaging field was promoted, which had great potential.
