This paper is about the application of image segmentation in the volume Visualization technology. Study image segmentation and 3d reconstruction together to achieve tissue segmentation. It has important significance on science and worthiness in practical application.In this research, at first, studied and designed a appropriate way to pretreatment the image and make it easy to segment, and unified human's subjective sensation and the treating processes.Then studied and analyzed some segmentation algorithm arithmetic, especially, researched the threshold segmentation and edge examination segmentation algorithm for medical images, specially made some improvement based on the Live Wire algorithm model, in order to get the precise boundary coordinates, then using the improved fills algorithm to get the tissue segmentation with internal detail.This paper proposed and realized Surface Rendering which unifies Marching Cubes and Surface Tracking algorithms based on image segmentation. Volume Rendering not only can draw up the surface, but also can unfold the internal structure. This paper take the segmented image as the input, and realize volume rendering using ray casting algorithm, and reduced the computation load, enhanced the reconstructing speed.
