Secondly, the system circuits are designed including the current transducer (CT), broadband high frequency amplifier, high-pass-filter, control circuit and so on. Thirdly, the high rate collection unit is developed under VB6.0 after analyzing the data capture cell dso2902, understanding its main technique parameter and using the Softdogout.dll in it. Many parameters are controlled by software and the useful data are obtained.Finally, the data described over are transformed to the format that MATLAB can recognize in order that the differences between the fault insulator and the good insulator are found and the fault insulator is detected by wavelet transform analysis method and MATLAB tool.This thesis researches about one of the most efficient identifying faulty methods for on-line discriminating the insulator faults in power transmission system. Based on the reason analysis why the fault occurs in the insulator, we have designed the equipment of the filter and pre-amplifier. The data have obtained by using software to control the high speed capture cell.
