Research Of Digital Map Database Based On ComGIS

The digital map database is the base of the Intelligent Vehicle Locating and Navigation System (IVLNS). The database background applies the IVLNS for the comprehensive data needed. The realization of functions of the system all depend on the accessing to and related operations on the database. The digital map servers as a visible carrier to store and manage the navigation information thus it can realize the vehicle locating and navigation function externally and visually.A method to make a digital map was introduced in this paper after a particular study of the software MapInfo Professional from MapInfo. The author realized functions of displaying and some related operations on the digital map using the latest technology of the component MapX 5.0. In the paper, a method was introduced to store and manage spatial data in digital map using object-relation technology of Oracle—Oracle Spatial combined with MapInfo Professional. At the same time a primary discuss on the sharing of spatial data was done. The paper put emphasis on the discussion of the design of spatial database using Oracle Spatial and how to construct spatial database with COM. Depending on the OO technology with the full advantage of Oracle Spatial author realized the accessing and management of spatial data in oracle spatial with MapX. A scheme of storing digital map data in Oracle Spatial was described in detail. At the end some summing-ups and prospects were given.
