| With the rapid development and extensive application of the network technology, computer network has already come into various fields of the society and plays more and more important role. At the same time, the network scale is becoming more larger, the structure is becoming more complex and the security problem is becoming more severe, all of these factors threaten the safety of network and make daily management more difficult. The network managers urgently require a practical network management system to help them to control the performance of network, monitor the trapshooting and optimize the structure, in order to ensure the stabilization of network.Because of its simpleness and implementing easily, SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) has become the actual standard in the network management field. After deeply studying and summarizing the correlative contents of SNMP and network management, the paper describes the designment and implementation of a Web-based network management system using Browser/Server structure model.The main functions of this system are as follows: collect the network configuration information and performance parameter according to the dynamic-set sample frequency; process the real-time collected data; calculate the performance parameter of the network device; set the rational threshold for the calculated result; provide alarm function; update the database information; provide the analytical and statistics function for the historical data and display the results to the administrator in the form of chart; configure network devices rationally by providing the reports of performance analyse and configuration status; provide the administrative function including addition, update, query, deletion, authority management, password management and so on.The system has passed the test and runs well in the network machine room of information center of Daqing oil company. It begins to put to use as the performance analytical and configuration management tool. |
