| The opportunities offered by Internet technologies have resulted in numerous new types of applications, among which collaborative design systems. Collaborative design systems distributed in locations are multiple-user systems that are both concurrent and synchronized. It allows users cooperating with each other to design a manufacture together through Internet.The research on collaborative modeling systems is only at an early stage at present, so only a few existing systems are developed. Most collaborative modeling systems are mainly based on client-server and browser-server. This paper connects B/ S and 3D-CAD system, introduces a framework of collaborative design system , based collaborative design system, Some key technologies, such as system topology structure, security control, are discussed. The main research content and results are briefly summarized as follows:First, a framework of collaborative product design system based on Internet is investigated. The paper discusses the key technologies and the main contents of system.Second, a dedicated collaborative product information model is proposed. In system not only the CAD drawing but also collaborative design information is put forward. So the model is investigated, parametric method is proposed.Third, a 3D XML file based collaborative information exchange method is proposed.Last, a practical security approach is investigated and proposed. |
