This thesis gives the background and the definition of the Business Intelligence(BI) first, studies its value, system architecture, application, discusses BI development trend, gives a detailed description of the overall structure design, its functions, steps of implementation, and then by combining theory with practice—a BI project sample, proceeds the management application system.In terms of structure, apart from the Introduction and the Conclusion, this text can be divided into four major parts.The first part is a synopsis of intelligence business. The architecture of BI contains five parts: the business data source, data extraction, data warehouse, OLAP server, information emerging. OLAP server is the core of them, and the establishment and application of data warehouse and data extraction play a decisive role in the improvement of the overall efficiency. While the information emerging should be used in the form of Portal according to the concrete customer role.We describe BI application from the profession and function angles. BI has already been extensively applied in every realm of enterprise operation. In enterprises, the government, utilities and education, the main purpose of using BI is to combine business strategy with operation.
