With constant improvement of the theories of GIS and rapid development of technology, the technology of GIS has been widely applied to all the current fields related to spatial information beyond the initial limited field. In particular, since 1990s the further improvement of GIS theories has made various commercial software of GIS with powerful functions and a lot of practical software of GIS appear, which advances the GIS to develop in all applied fields.The dangerous appraisal of the mountain torrent and Decision Support on the basis of fully draw lessons from forefathers' research approach and achievement in the course of appraising, introduce GIS technology to and come down in mountain torrent dangerous appraisal, and show various kinds of appraisal face ors with GIS in the form of figure, picture, Then utilize strong space of GIS software to analyse the function, and combine the law of amount of information in mathematical statistics and make operation. Through GIS platform eted the dangerous evaluation of the mountain torrent and Decision Support successfully.By analysing the development of the forewarn decision system and the geographic information system (GIS). We concluded that combining the above two systems has the realistic value today when automated technology is developing rapidly. The systems will be organically combined and fixed, and be supplemented to each other. This article introduces the principle, the realization function and the method of developing the forewarn decision system of mountain torrent through the analying of the importance of establishing the system of the Decision Support system.
