Design And Implement Of Media On Demand System Based On P2P

This paper,"Design and Implement of Media on Demand System Based on P2P",is integrated with the"Non-Real Time Education System"subject as a sub-system of MOST(Ministry of Science and Technology) National key Technologies R&D Project of the Tenth five-year Plan:"Network Education Key Technology and Demonstration Project". The aid of this paper is to research the infrastructure, basic protocols, searching technology, application and features of peer-to-peer network. Furthermore, combining JXTA, a current standard P2P network platform, this paper puts forward a resources searching application model of Media on Demand (MOD) based on P2P.Firstly, this paper presents the overview and feature of MOD system, and compares it with traditional education model. However there are many problems in usage of resources. To resolve these problems, P2P is brought in. This paper wants to use P2P technology to resolve resources sharing problem.Secondly, this paper introduces the construction, features, classification, researching aspects and application fields of P2P. Further more, this paper also explains several main resources searching models, technology and their features.Thirdly, because of JXTA's important role in our system, JXTA's key techniques such as concepts, structure, elements, protocol and researching technology are systematically expounded here.Fourthly, this paper constructs the infrastructure and function framework of MOD based on P2P, and expatiates on the design and implement of main functions of system, including resources discovery and searching, resource booking, query routing, etc. Its superiority on searching efficiency is also discussed here. Finally, the paper summarizes the advantage and disadvantage of the new system, and puts forwards the next step work direction.
