Research And Implementation Of Bluetooth RFCOMM Protocol

Bluetooth technology has become a global technology standard of short range communication between digital equipments, which is intended to transmit voice and data without having to cable computer and other sorts of electronic equipment. By Bluetooth technology, digital equipments with Bluetooth function could construct a Bluetooth Picnet or Scatter net, and form a Personal Area Network.A Bluetooth system may be divided to two parts: low hardware layer and high software layer. Bluetooth software protocol stack is an important part of the structure. It also is the key of all kinds of Bluetooth function. This paper describes the research of RFCOMM protocol layer and realizes the data transmission of RFCOMM on computer.In this thesis, firstly, the basic concepts and technical features of Bluetooth are introduced. The position and function of RFCOMM protocol in Bluetooth system's framework structure have been described. Then, the detailed content and implementation process are expatiated respectively. The relation between RFCOMM layer and other protocol is also explained. Finally, RFCOMM protocol and other layer protocol developed by other members of the group are integrated to a complete Bluetooth protocol stack, provides an application based on Windows XP platform. Realization of the basic functions of the Bluetooth protocol stack will lay the foundation for the further development of embedded Bluetooth system.
