The security system has played an essential role in industry and social life, of which the video surveillance system is the most important part. As a result, the theoretic meaning and the huge value of practical use both demonstrate the need for the research and the implementation of the high intelligence video surveillance system. Based on monocular vision, this paper presents a method of moving target detection and motion analysis. A universal intelligent video surveillance system is designed and implemented with the foundation of DirectShow frame. Moreover, this system, which can autonomously detecting and tracking moving targets in the scene, is capable of sending alarm after the analysis of the real time recognized motion features from the targets.The main contents of the essay are as follows:1. According to the scene of indoor surveillance, the self-adaptive background subtraction method and the motion area segmentation method were adopted here to segment the moving object. The background model of the monitoring scene is constructed based on normal distribution, and updated synchronously utilizing Kalman filtering with different coefficients. After that, the autonomous threshold segmentation with histogram and mathematic morphology are combined to extract moving targets precisely on the foundation of differential image analysis.2. Aimed at intelligent alert under surveillance scene, the method of Motion Analysis of single moving target is researched in this paper. The projection way is applied to originally locate the target, and the linear approaching method with three points is used to forecast the motion of the target. The centroids are recorded to pick up the trace of the target, which can help to figure out the feature parameters of the moving target. By the settings of cautionary area and the analysis of moving parameters, this essay presents a simple and rule-based classifying way of security occurrences, which can send different alarm information corresponding to different situations.3. For the purpose of universality and expansibility of the intelligent video surveillance system, the architecture development is based on Direct X standard. This system implements the functions of video acquiring, moving targets detecting and analyzing, compressed coding and decoding with MPEG4 video and network communicating and transmitting under the framework of DirectShow, which finally realizes an intelligent surveillance system with the feature of "detecting and processing first, compressing and transmitting later".Proved by tests, this system is not only capable of monitoring intelligently and sending alarm, but can greatly reduce the need for large storage memory, which is able to meet the demand for practical use in the society.
