3D shape measurement and reconstruction is a branch of computer image processing and a research direction that integrates computer vision with computer image and graph processing. It has a wide application in the fields of automation process, machine vision, CAD, virtual reality, medicine and so on. It is an important but difficult problem that how we can obtain the 3D surface information of an object accurately and rapidly and recover the 3D shape by these information.This dissertation presents a new method named Stripe Boundary Code Measurement, by which we can capture the surface topography of a 3D object without any contact. The deformed pattern appears when four different stripe-coded patterns among which there are some relationships are projected onto the specimen and observed from the direction that has an angle from the projection axis. The deformed pattern image contains information about the surface topography of 3D object. The four deformed patterns produced by the four different stripe-coded patterns are input into a computer by CCD camera and processed by a series of procedure: image pretreatment, thresholding, boundary adjusting and code detecting and then are analyzed to obtain the 3D coordination of the superficial of the measured object. On the basis of former system, we realize 3D point clouds reconstruction. The point clouds are read and showed on the screen with more true feeling with the lighting and rendering part we add to the system. To make the work handled easily, we select a part of the origin point clouds. By pretreatment such as grouping, sorting, sampling and coordination amending we realize line reconstruction. We present a simple and effective triangulation algorithm based on our project, then we can realize surface reconstruction. Finally, take the further work into account we realized a 3D-shape reconstruction based on adapted MC algorithm, and for the same reason we talked about the further research direction of this project.
