| PIM-SM protocol is now being widely used in the IP multicast technology.for its advantageous performance in protocol independence,obvious membership joins and handover from RPT to SPT.To ensure the compatibility of IPv4/6 protocol stacks in the transitional period to NGI,PIM-SM is due to being implemented in both IPv4 and IPv6. The main task of this paper is bringing the PIM-SM into practice under the dual-stack environment with the Linux 2.6.8.1 kernel being used. Based on the implementation, we also analyse the process of the implementation according to the protocol and give the details of important modules in both the user layer and the kernel layer of the source code as well,to explain how the kernel forwards multicast data and disposes the encapsulated register messages,for example, the protocol test has been done afterwards. With all the above, this paper provides original analysis of security problems in the PIM-SM as well as the prospects of application of the multicast technology in the end of the paper. |
