EMS Information System Optimum Research On Flow Process Management

Nowadays, the Express Mail Service (EMS) has played an indispensable role in the postal industry area. EMS has its own advantages such as rivalrousness, profitability and potential. In 90's, four of the world's most biggest Express Companies, DHL, TNT, UPS and FEDEX have all established their branches in China, which outspreading vehement competition with our EMS. On the other hand, EMS's primary local rivals, civil express companies, are also extending fleetly.With the descending of the market share and the growth rate, EMS has displayed so many disadvantages that they will disserve EMS's development in the future. Facing the competitions, how to develop EMS has become the urgent problem which needs to be solved. In order to raise EMS's competitive ability, we must depend on science and technology. Lately, the development trend of EMS is informatization, automatization,network,intelligentization, as a key part of the transport activity, information can both improve efficiency and reduce cost in management by rapid and exactly data information passing and sharing, as well as efficacious control to the information system. That means, using computers, network technique and intellectualized sorting to improve traditional flow processes. Via optimizing whole- process task organization, the mail flow processing will be reengineered, so that the process will be innovated.This thesis analyzes EMS's status quo and current process in details. Using the BPR process flow as theoretic, the author tries to find a useful way to develop EMS. Especially depending on the advanced information technique, we can achieve the real reengineering in EMS flow process.This thesis focuses on the improvement of information system, which based on the EMS flow process. First of all, RFID is applied to the combination of real logistics flow and information flow as system integration, which could extremely improve track search ability for the mailing in whole process. Also, the combination of real logistics flow and information flow could fulfill the detailed mailing track, so as to assure the improvement of the EMS quality and also the strengthen of the management.Secondly, establish an instant mailing control network by equipping GPS for every vehicle, subsequently the whole process would be under control. The track of very equipped vehicle would be showed on the digital map, which helps to find out the status of every vehicle, to manage paroxysmal affairs instantly, and to assure the time limit of the mailing.Thirdly, establish and consummate mailing search system, provide instant mailing information, prove EMS quality. Normative control and sharing of the produce information, as character of the EMS process management model, could control acceptance time,time for closure,shipped time of every business branch in the whole process, as well as the managing time of mailing manage centre, so as to achieve the verification of the mailing managing time limit.Finally we need to establish custom relation management system , we can comprehend clients'needs and advance theirs satisfaction.
