The Design And Implementation Of Email Client Based On Wireless Mobile Communication Platform

With the extension of wireless equipment such as mobile telephone, PDA, and the interfusion of the wireless network and wired network, people have higher requests of receiving and dispatching emails. The technologies of the wireless email keep on developing. 3G is approaching, so the need of email client software on mobile increases. The kind of email client software on mobile make customers can visit there mailbox and receive or dispatch email in anytime and anywhere. As a kind of added value business, it must be supported by transportation merchant.This thesis introduces the related technology firstly, including Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless, Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, Post Office Protocol, and Internet Message Access Protocol and so on.Then, the thesis analyses the requirement of the system, such as summary of the system, goal of the system, running environment, functional requirement and other requirements. In the part of functional requirement, the requirement such as account management, reading, editing, deleting, moving, saving email, receiving, dispatching email, mailbox management is introduced. According to system requirements, the thesis describes system design of the email client. In the part of overall design, the thesis introduces the overall framework, and describes the function of every functional module. In the detailed design part, the detailed design of 3 functional modules: mailbox management, mail management and receiving email, including 10 sub-modules in total are described. In the last, the thesis mainly describes accomplish of the IMAP4 stack, and introduces the class structure, socket callback method. In the same time, the thesis shows some important data structure. And we can know the accomplish method of some important interface.Lastly, the thesis comes from a subject of ZTE Corporation. The email client is developed and successes to be used in business.
