In the production line of color precoated steel, Edge Position Control (EPC) of strip steel is one of the most important sections. Good EPC system can guarantee the quality of color precoated steel productions. This paper will mainly discuss EPC system.The EPC system, which is designed in my paper, is made up by the eddy current sensor system monitored the deviation signal of strip steel, PLC, hydraulic equipment and a roller. The eddy current sensor system adopts the position signal, then the signal is dealt with by SIEMENS S7-200 and amplified for the hydraulic equipment to stand, at last the roller which is controlled by the hydraulic equipment rectifies a deviation according as the treated signal.The design of system is divided into three parts- the monitor system, hydraulic pressure system and system's software. The design of monitor system is to design a high-accuracy system that is monitored the deviation signal of strip steel. Hydraulic pressure design includes designing the enlarge circuit and setting up the whole hydraulic pressure system.The design of the system's software is to finish the program of the MATLAB simulated software SIMULINK.After recommending the main structure and concrete content of hydraulic pressure system, this paper analyses the control performance of the whole system and correspondingly proposes the Fuzzy-PID control algorithm.Systematic simulation and industrial test prove: Fuzzy-PID control method has improved systematic control performance greatly.
