| Image Fusion Technology, as an important pan of the multi-sensor information fusion-thefusion of visual information, is a very popular research area in recent years. The image fusiontechnology is developed from theoretical investigation to utility, for the distinguish of themeteorological satellite material has very obvious difference, the quantity of the data processingis very large, its format is disunion and some other intricacy factors, the image fusion technologyused in meteorology region is very few. In this paper, the image fusion can enhance theinformation content and the display precision of the meteorological satellite image.In order to acquire high resolution, image fusion technique can be used to combine multipleimages from different sensors. We complex the utilized image fusion technology to fuse themeteorological satellite images, according to the features of the images,scientific researchesand the demands of the business applies. This study practices two methods of data fusion: IHStransformation method and wavelet-based method, and applies NOAA/AVHRR images andEOS/MODIS images to case studies. The result showed that the wavelet-based method wasrelatively complicated and could get high resolution images in all bands, especially that it couldlay stress on the edge information of the observed objects in the height meteorological satellite'simage, make it easy to judge the category of the clouds, so it's fit to fuse the satellite imageswhich is the same sensor but different passages. However, IHS transformation method combinesthe spectral signature of full-resolution image and low-resolution image. It reserves the highresolution of the image and increases the spectral signature of the image, so it can be easy toidentify the azimuth, the scope and the detail information of the objects. It is connfirmed that thismethod is apply to fuse the distinguish ability meteorological satellite images. |
