Some embedded devices, such as smart phones and personal digital assistants, are becoming personal mobile equipments which can provide sufficient and efficient processing capability. However, these equipments depend on batteries to some extent. So a high efficenet and lower-power implementation of power management will push up the overall effectiveness of the devices, which is the most important ability to make Embedded System survive in the market.This paper is to describe the design and implementation of the Dynamic Power Management (DPM), with lower-power, especially for intelligent handsets and other embedded handset devices. Combine the SkeEye, a kind of embedded system simulator, and DPM to invent SkyDPM Simulation System which can be used to simulate many embedded platforms. On the basis of the technology, the further study of DPM is also discussed.First, this paper analyse the characters of a few simulators realized in software, and choose SkyEye to be the platform, Then analyse the implementation mechanism of SkyEye in details, pointing out its advantages and disadvantages of realizing power management which has built the base of the design and implementation of DPM module. After that, in chapter 3th, this paper disscuss the architectural details of the system of SkyDPM, and the implementation of its every module.After that, analyse the technique of DPM existing, and put forward an adaptive algorithm for realizing the scheme DPM which has been designed in the simulator SkyDPM. This algorithm mainly aiming at the characteristics of the randomness of the request, and the dynamic changes of environmental resources in the Embedded System, predicts the idle time of the device and adapts the idle time itself, at the same time, changs the voltage of the processor, which increases the utilization of the processor and achieves the effect of saving power system.At last present the testing results and its analysis in details to demonstrate the effectivity and usefulness of the work.
