With the development of computer and telecommunication technology, embedded-system application is becoming more and more popular. While the traditional development method confine the software developer due to the dependency on the real target system in debugging application. In order to overcome the bottle-neck of the software development, it brings out the full system simulator. The simulator simulates the real target system so that the developers can begin software design and code debugging without the real hardware and in-board emulator. The use of simulator can improve the efficiency and lower the cost of the development activity. This paper focuses on the design and implementation of simulative UART and Ethernet card, which are the essential part of the full system simulator. This paper also puts forward a scheme of loadable peripheral equipment interface.First the brief introduction to structure and implementation of the full system simulator is given, and then the discourse presents the functional need and design idea of simulative UART and Ethernet card. From the basis, we design and implement the simulative UART and Ethernet card. We utilize the pseudo terminal technology to facilitate future test and interaction, which will be discussed in detail. The thesis presents the design and implementation of loadable peripheral equipment interface, which is significant for construction of the configurable, flexible system and facility of the third party development. Finally we make a discussion about the procedure involved in generation of cross compile tool chain, we point out the problem we may encounter and how to solve it.
