| As a development of current Web, Semantic Web aims to enrich the Web data with semantic format and make them machine-readable. Thus it will be convenient for human to co-operate. But the implementation of Semantic Web faces some theoretic and technical difficulties, such as semantic interoperating, specification organizing and intelligent aggregating.Our Semantic Native XML Database System(SNAX) includes design and implementation for some crucial semantic Web technologies which are parts of different layer in Berners-Lee's semantic Web proposal. Many theories, technologies and methodologies are helpful for building up actual semantic Web.As a part of SNAX, the author develops SnaxOE(SNAX Ontology Editor). It is a Chinese-user-compatible ontology editor. The editor offers three text editing means for users, supports ontology import and export functions and consistency check, provides Chinese prompt for ontology written in English language.The thesis is organized in following order:Firstly, the fundamental semantic Web notions proposed by Tim Berners-Lee and SNAX are introduced in concise way. Secondly, the ontology methodologies in semantic Web are researched. The summary of ontology construction rules and approaches is worked out. Thirdly, design, development and implementation procedures for SnaxOE are elaborated. Finally, the experiment for testing SnaxOE and comparison between SnaxOE and some well-known ontology editors have been done. |
